Tarpon Caye was the best fishing experience of my life I will be coming back this December and for the rest of my life. .
I am 13 and I caught my first tarpon there thanks to Mr. Leslie and our assistant Carlos. Mr. Leslie is the most knowledgeable fly fishermen I've ever met. I came to Tarpon Caye with a very mediocre cast and after 4 days I became a much, much better caster.

Went the first week in November for 6 days - what a fantastic and magical place - located about 8 miles off the coast of Placencia, Belize...
The small cabanas you stay in are located over the water with spectacular views looking east toward the barrier reef. They do have kayaks available and will set them up for you to fish in around Tarpon Caye
I concentrated on Permit for the week - had about 70 excellent shots at Permit on a variety of flats - landed lots of bonefish - some were good size - Tarpon were right at the resort . The food and staff did a excellent job - 3 meals a day and they would accommodate any special diet needs - lobster a couple of nights
The guides are all top rate - and very experienced and will work with you on casting etc .
The beauty of Tarpon Caye is that you are at the fishing grounds - you do not have to ride in Panga for hour before you start fishing from the mainland - They are very flexible on fishing times - you fish for 3-4 hrs then come back for breakfast and go back out with a packed lunch
The location allows you to fish the very best Permit and Tarpon tides and flats
